Israel’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Danny Danon is Israel’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Mr. Danon was appointed Ambassador in October 2015 and has previously held senior positions  in Israel’s Cabinet and the Knesset (parliament).
Ambassador Danon has served as Israel’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Minister of Science, Technology, and Space.

He was first elected to the Knesset in 2009 and subsequently served as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Chair of the Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee and Chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.
Ambassador Danon completed his IDF service with the rank of Lieutenant.  He holds a BA in International Relations from FIU and an MA in Public Policy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
