Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the OR Movement
Roni Flamer has dedicated his life’s work to developing and populating the Negev and Galilee.
In 1999, Roni co-established the town of Sansana in the Northern Negev.
In 2002 he co-founded the OR Movement with the goal of securing the future of Israel through acts of modern-day Zionism and pioneering.
In over a decade of activity, with Roni at the helm, the OR Movement has established 9 new towns, assisted tens of thousands of people to move to the Negev and Galilee, constructed over 84 community facilities, completed the process of strengthening and expanding 64 existing communities, accompanied dozens of Seed Groups through the relocation process, and continues to work from the hallways of the Knesset and on the ground in the North and South to make new legislature improving the regions.
In recognition for his work, Roni has been recognized as one of the 100 people positively influencing Jewish Life in 2013 by the Algemeiner Journal, and he was the recipient of the Yigal Alon Award for Exemplary Pioneering Activities-2012, the Prime Minister’s Award for Innovation and Initiatives-2010, and others. More recently, Roni was chosen for the Maoz Leadership Program which took place in Israel and was associated with Harvard Business School including an intensive course therein.
Prior to founding Sansana and the OR Movement, Roni served in the IDF and was the team commander for the prestigious Egoz combat unit. He does reserve duty throughout the year while balancing the life of father and CEO.
Continuing to lead by example Roni moved from central Israel to Sansana in 1999 and in 2010 moved to Yerucham. Roni is married to Inbar and they have 5 young daughters. Inbar is a Clinical Psychologist in Be’er Sheva .
