Business Counselor to the Economic Minister to North America
Iftach Yavets is the Senior Economic Adviser at the Economic Mission of Israel in New York.
Mr. Yavets has a proven track record in economic development for Israeli industries in the private and government/public sector, both in Israel and abroad.
In his previous diplomatic mission in Los Angeles, Mr. Yavets promoted Israeli companies specializing in homeland/national security, agriculture development, and the high-tech industry. He also initiated the Israeli Fashion Week in California. In 2010, he received recognition from the municipality/city/mayor of Beverly Hills honoring his work, and for promoting relations between Israel and California.
Prior to his work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Government of Israel, Mr. Yavets was a founder in Medic4all, an Israeli-Swiss venture. He has also worked for tech companies such as Lucent and Madge.
Mr. Yavets sees the Real Estate conference as a unique opportunity to leverage and foster Israeli-New York economic relations, which he hopes will lead to synergic cooperation between small Israel and the great US. “Israel has much to contribute to US industries, which are hungry for innovation – something our country has in abundance. That is why I am here in New York. Companies such as Rav Bariach, Caesarstone and are an industrial model and a subject of Israeli pride”, said Mr Yavets, and added that “many other companies can use this conference as an exceptional marketing platform to enter the US market and showcase their work and products.
Mr. Yavets’ spouse, Mrs. Sigal Yavets, is the CAO of the Permanent Mission of Israel to the UN and Consulate General of Israel in New York.
